“Putting the OMG back in Omagh”

FOCUS is pleased to announce the First Ever “Omagh Festival” which will take place on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of August.

The Festival will be aimed at all residents of Omagh District and will be an attempt to create a bit of fun and excitement within the Town. On Friday we have a Vintage Tea Dance for the Young at Heart,  and a Disco for the Special Olympics group.

On Saturday, there is a “Arty G Memorial Buskathon” in memory of the icon that was Arty-G. Local talent from throughout the District are invited to take part in what will be a flourish of melody floating through the town, we hope!

We also take-over the Amphitheatre at the Strule Arts Centre and turn it in to a Family Entertainment Bonanza with a host of activities happening for all age groups, including Kids Magic Show, Hip-Hop Street Dancing, Graffitti Wall, Disney Hits, Circus skills and more!!

There are many bigger events throughout the weekend, with The Strule Raft Races on Saturday, a Barn Dance on Saturday night with the Alternative Barn Dance in Bogan’s and Omagh’s first ever Soapbox Derby down Kevlin Avenue on Sunday.

All of these events are open to all Community Groups, Businesses, Statutory Agencies and Sporting Clubs, and we would actively encourage participation from all.

Also, throughout the next few months the town will be going Duck Crazy as we prepare for the first-ever Ducky Derby on the River Strule. Ducks will be on sale throughout businesses in the town and will be raced down the River Strule during the Raft Races. Prizes will be awarded for the first duck past the finishing line.

A schedule of events will be released in the coming weeks with full details and information on how to take part. If you are interested in taking part or would like to volunteer, or if you have any ideas, please contact the FOCUS office on 02882 240991 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
